Tunisia: Energy deficit rises by 14% at the end of of May 2023

According to the report published by the National Observatory of Energy and Mines, the energy trade deficit rose from TND 3,085 million at the end of May 2022 to TND 3,519 million at the end of May 2023, up 14%.

The value of exports of energy products fell by 37% compared to the end of May 2022 to reach 1440 million dinars. The value of imports dropped by 8% compared to May 2022, to 4,959 million dinars. The value of imports of petroleum products fell by 5%, at the end of May 2023, compared with the same period in 2022, to 3,148 million dinars.
