Earlier, MP Haykel Mekki accused Ennahdha party of taking advantage of Tataouine’s protests to overthrow the current government, with all its components, including the People’s Movement.
Responding to these accusations, the Islamic party firmly disowned itself from the demonstration that occurred in front of the embassy in Paris by Tunisian nationals who opposed the use of force during protests in Tataouine.
In a press release on its official Facebook page, the party denied any relation to the rally directly or indirectly.
“What Mekki mentioned is a pure lie, slander and false charges on Ennahda, which is accustomed to respecting the symbols of the state and its officials. This is part of a systematic campaign of attack and fabrication of charges against Ennahdha, to build tension and a wedge between political parties. ”, the party added.
It further inverted the person in question to stop this rejected approach of political rivalry which is based on distortion and fabrication. They finally reminded of their legal right to pursue such slanders.
