Ennahdha deputy Maher Medhioub, sent, through his Facebook page, an open letter to U.S senator Chris Murphy, to draw his attention to what is occurring in Tunisia, in terms of return towards tyranny. He notably cited the case of Noureddine Bhiri, under house arrest, and that of the hunger strikers, known as a collective of “citizens against the coup”.
He cautioned that there will be no peace and stability in the whole region if there is a return to democracy in Tunisia. He wondered how “friends” of Tunisia could support reforms devoid of electoral legitimacy.
