Tunisia – Ennahdha calls for withdrawal of initiative to modify electoral law

Ennahda has urged the withdrawal of the legislative initiative regarding the amendment of the electoral law, cautioning against “engaging in a political scandal that will remain in the records of all involved.”

In a statement issued today, Ennahda described this move as “a dangerous trend” that would undermine the legitimacy of the upcoming presidential elections, criticizing the amendment of the law during the election campaign as “politically and morally unacceptable.”

The party called on “all democratic political and civil forces to unite and oppose these measures through peaceful and democratic means.”
