The Executive Office of the Ennahda Movement estimated that the worsening issue of irregular migration represents “a true security and social challenge which needs the highest levels of vigilance”, emphasising that any treatment of this problem “must not neglect the humanitarian and security dimensions”, given that the African continent represents the strategic depth of Tunisia and one of its different spaces of exchange.
In a press release, published today, Thursday, the executive office of the movement called to “stop any electoral use of the immigration issue and to abstain from any speech likely to negatively impact the political and social climate” and the resulting division of national ranks, especially in light of “the absence of an overall national plan with clear objectives and mechanisms”.
Ennahdha also condemned the accusations of a newspaper which intentionally misleads national public opinion on the issue of irregular migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, and affirms that the movement “supports a project for their resettlement in Tunisia”. , according to the text of the press release, declaring is right to sue the management of the newspaper and those who drafted the report.
