Tunisia-Ennahdha denounces attacks against security officers

Displaying its complete solidarity with the president of the republic,  Ennahdha executive office called for additional inquiries and enlightening public opinion concerning the poisoned package received by the Presidency of the Republic.

In a press release, the party wished a “speedy recovery” to the head of the presidential cabinet  Nadia Akacha after the deterioration of her health following the opening of the package.

It further expressed support for initiatives which direct to mitigate political and social tensions and which aim to unite Tunisians.

In addition, the party maintained that the cabinet reshuffle declared by the prime minister will bring more capability to the government’s work and enhance its efficiency, in a difficult and exceptional situation.

The statement likewise referred to the latest protests organized last Saturday on Avenue Habib Bourguiba. According to the same source, it condemned the aggression of the security forces by the demonstrators and at the same time welcomed the security policies upholding the rights and freedoms calling for its strengthening.
