Ennahdha strongly supports a government of national unity fitted of dealing with the consequences of COVID-19, announced member of the movement’s political bureau Khalil Baroumi.
Baroumi emphasised that the request for a national unity government has been promoted by Ennahdha since the commencement of discussions about the government formation.
In a statement to the TAP, he said that this approach which did not secure sufficient support has today confirmed to be an essential necessity to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and decrease its economic and social consequences. The current situation demands an extended team.
He added that Rached Ghannouchi had on numerous times raised this issue with PM Elyes Fakhfakh cabinet. This decision is important today, with the power to enable the government to profit from A more large-scale assistance and decrease the number of its competitors, he explained.
Baroumi talked of the problems faced by the ruling coalition parties in approving draft laws in the parliament.

Baroumi told the TAP that Ennahdha which stands political differentiation, condemns, today, the aggression against political parties and their leaders, particularly at these difficult times which need more solidarity and transparent goals within the ruling coalition.
