“The shadow of the president, the engineer of regime change and the iron lady of the palace ”, this is how several deputies described yesterday, the director of the president’s cabinet, Nadia Akacha during a meeting vote of confidence in the Mechichi government, while others accused her of negotiating with prominent figures to fulfil ministerial portfolios.
To comment on what has been said about Akacha’s role in forming the government and the veracity of the accusations against her, Rachida Ennaifer, communications officer at the Presidency of the Republic, intervened to provide some clarifications today, Tuesday, September 2, 2020, on Mosaique.
Ennaifer indicated that the qualifiers launched by some deputies and reported on social networks, in particular by the pages financed from abroad, represent an attack against the President of the Republic and his cabinet via the harassment of his chief of staff.
She pointed out that Kais Saied’s cabinet has expertise in various diplomatic, social and economic fields, and that the third of a team is made of women. She added that it is a choice made by the President of the Republic to give the possibility to women to be present quantitatively and qualitatively.
Ennaifer said the scepticism campaigns and attacks against Nadia Akasha and the entire office team working in solidarity and silence, which opened the door to many interpretations and allegations as well as to exploiting some parties in the absence of an official spokesperson to answer them.
