The blast of a 100 mm diameter natural gas pipe in a construction site in the Ennasr district of the Ariana governorate caused fright among several residents last night, according to what was confirmed by the regional director of Civil Protection in Ariana, Brigadier General Moez Ben Khalifa, today, Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Ben Khalifa clarified that a 100 mm diameter gas pipe was damaged at a construction site in the Ennasr district, which caused a leak of large quantities of gas, causing high pressure accompanied by a loud sound explosion, causing panic among citizens.
Ben Khalifa, affirmed that momentary preventive measures had been taken and the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company was contacted and sent technical teams to cut off the gas and empty the gas distribution network.
According to the same source, around 4:00 am all the teams had finished their work and the citizens had returned home, after being requested to leave their homes, in anticipation of any emergency.
