Tunisia-EU grants Tunisia “partner for local democracy” status

The conference of local and regional authorities of the European Council, held Tuesday in Strasbourg, France, has awarded Tunisia the state of “partner for local democracy” after the consent of the decision by a vast majority (141 votes) and the abstention of two parliamentarians.
The Tunisian delegation will include four representatives and four substitutes who will be ready to sit alongside Congress members and offer to the debates during sessions – but without the right to vote – and to the work of its monitoring, current affairs and governance committees.
