Tunisia-EU plans to stop macro-financial aid to Tunisia

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell will be the guest on TV5 MONDE on Saturday to examine the situation in Tunisia and the position of the European Union after the latest developments on the political scene.

In an announcement extract from the show, the head of European diplomacy said, “We firmly demand a return to democratic normality. We are clearly extremely concerned about these events and we are in the process of deciding to stop the disbursement of the tranches of macro-financial aid that were planned. It is not a punishment. I press that the money that goes directly to citizens will continue to be disbursed, though macro-financial aid, which is quite significant, we are discussing. There are suggestions on the table and some members must decide, but it is my proposal to stop the progressive disbursement that was intended for this aid depending on how events develop, ”says Josep Borrell .
