Tunisia- Exclusive: Hichem Mechichi asks his political supporters to finish the establishment of constitutional court as soon as possible

Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi was not dissatisfied with the statutory advice given by the administrative tribunal that constitutional examination falls within the exclusive competence of the constitutional court. On the opposite, because of the said opinion, even the President of the Republic does not have the right to pronounce this sort of question.

Informed sources related to Tunisie Numérique that Mechichi asked his political supporters to finish the establishment of the constitutional court as soon as possible, not just to help it break the deadlock in contact with the cabinet reshuffle, but likewise to avoid such kind of troubles in the future.

Indeed, this kind of problem could occur again in the event of the selection of new governors, because to end the appointment procedure, they need to take an oath before the President of the Republic.
