Tunisia-Exclusive: New restrictive measures to fight COVID-19

Informed sources told Tunisie Numérique that new restrictive measures will be put in place in the upcoming hours.

The measures are as follows:

  • Establishment of targeted lockdown throughout the country
  • Decree a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. in all governorates
  • A strict application of the health protocol declared by the authorities

According to the same source, officials are considering the possibility of banning all gatherings including wedding parties and funeral rites.

Recall that prime minister Hichem Mechichi called on the members of the scientific committee to organize an urgent meeting in order to examine the decline of the epidemiological situation in the country. For his part, the governor of Tunis announced that new restrictive measures will be announced in a few hours.
