Tunisie Numérique has learned from informed sources that the Tunisian embassy in Tripoli has been subjected to administrative control by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to our sources, the Ambassador is speculated of having falsified invoices relating to a hotel stay.
The Ambassador has even deliberately obstructed work taking place at his residence in order to extend his stay at the hotel. It all began when the public accountant declined to accept what he considered to be false invoices and reported his findings to the supervisory authorities.
The ambassador apparently attempted to pressure him to prevent him from reporting the information, but to no avail. In addition, it is customary for embassies to show their financial statements on a monthly basis. Nevertheless, the Tunisian Embassy in Libya has not presented its financial statements for approximately 8 months.
