Former secretary of state for hydraulic resources Abdallah Rabhi announced to the TAP agency that the average of precipitation, at the national level, did not attain 33 %, of the seasonal average of the same period of the ‘last year.
He believed that the 2022/2023 season is exceptional, and is observed by the weakness of precipitation, adding that the persistence of drought for three successive years has only exacerbated the situation.
“Faced with this situation, we have no choice but to proclaim, officially, the state of drought in the country,” he announced.
