Tunisia-Faouzi Mehdi: Rached Ghannouchi will be vaccinated after Kais Saied

Health Minister Faouzi Mehdi announced that President Kais Saied should receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before house speaker Rached Ghannouchi who will be contacted later.

Many politicians want to be vaccinated, however symbolically the President of the Republic, Kais Saied should be vaccinated before the others, he added.

Mr Mehdi has stated that 51,000 Tunisians between health workers and ordinary citizens have been vaccinated since the beginning of the national vaccination campaign on March 13.

He also indicated that the complications and side effects that the ministry identified after vaccination are normal, specifying that the National Pharmacovigilance Center will take care of registering the adverse effects of any medication.

He explained that the ministry will set up space in the “Evax” platform through which vaccinated people communicate and report any difficulties that have arisen after vaccination in addition to the toll-free number 80 102 021.
