Speaking at a press conference, Health Minister Faouzi Mehdi declared that Tunisia is confronting a new wave of the Coronavirus which has prompted the increase in the number of infections and deaths.
He reported that the incidence rate is rated at 203 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The Minister of Health added that the health situation is critical in Beja, Kairouan, Zaghouan and Siliana where the number of identified infections has surpassed 400 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Faouzi Mehdi further indicated that the epidemiological situation is critical in Manouba, Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine, at the same time calling on regional officials to set in place restrictive measures to prevent the decline of the health situation.
