Tunisia is observing an outbreak of a community infection of the Coronavirus, Health minister Faouzi Mehdi told in a press conference. He indicated that a rise in the rate of infection has been documented.
The minister revealed that the death tally reached 4237 distributed as following:( 1430 deaths in October with a rate of 47 daily deaths),(1592 deaths in November with a daily 47 fatalities ), meanwhile December reported 830 deaths till yesterday with an average of 40 deaths.
The minister explained that the death tally dropped due to the application of the announced measures, indicating in this context that leniency in the application of these measures had been observed for some time.
He likewise disclosed the existence of 292 ICU beds and 1913 oxygen beds noting that they are working hard to prevent the health system from collapsing
