Tunisia – Farmers’ union responds to Saïed: milk crisis has nothing to do with speculation

Member of the executive office of farmers, Karim Daoud responded this Wednesday on a private radio station, to the statements of President of the republic Kaïs Saïed, claiming that the milk crisis has nothing to do with speculation, but ‘It is due to a blatant lack of 20% production.

He clarified that the cost price of production is too high, and several breeders have abandoned their cows, causing a drop in production between 20 to 25%.

He confirmed that the cost price of one litre of milk in production has ranged between 1,500 and 1600 millimes.
