Tunisia- Fire engulfs palm trees in north Kebili

In an official statement to “Tunis Afrique Presse” Regional Director of Civil Protection Lt., Col. Mabrouk Al-Saafi has promptly confirmed that fires have ravaged 150 palm trees in the north Kebili.
Igniting at 5 o’clock, civil protection units headed to the region, to extinguish the fire. The consuming fire undoubtedly caused the extensive destruction of about 10 of Deglet Nour and date palms.

Farmers were called to follow proper precautions to secure their agricultural crops by avoiding to ignite palm leaves and parasitic herbs.
