Tunisia-FM Jerandi meets Italy’s Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese

During a meeting in Rome, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi and Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese to boost bilateral collaboration so as to find practical solutions to matters of mutual interest.

The two ministers addressed various issues including migration and ways to develop bilateral partnerships, reads a statement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

During the meeting, Mr Jerandi talked of the “comprehensive” approach of President Kais Saied to migration. An approach that views this phenomenon as a humanitarian issue and a common responsibility requiring the mobilisation of the international community’s efforts, the statement adds.

The Italian minister welcomed the level of cooperation reached by the two nations. She expressed Italy’s readiness to strengthen these relationships so as to surmount common challenges.
