Minister of Foreign Affairs Othmen Jerandi supervised, on May 27, 2021, the inauguration of the ninth session of the Tunisian-American Joint Council for Trade and Investment (TIFA Council), which will take place over the span of two days with the participation of several Tunisian ministries and executives involved in the economic field and their American counterparts.
The session outlines a chance to validate the seniority and the solidity of the partnership between Tunisia and the United States of America in different fields, in particular, the economy and in terms of trade and commerce. investment, which will assist in supporting efforts to address the socio-economic consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The work of the delegations of the two nations during this session will also concentrate on exploring the possibilities of cooperation in the areas of market access, agriculture, services, investment and intellectual property.
The two parties will further discuss the issue of marketing Tunisian organic products, including canned olive oil, which is broadly known for its quality in foreign markets, particularly in the US, considered a promising market.
It should be remarked that this session of the Tunisian-American Joint Council for Trade and Investment is part of a set of significant bilateral dates to come between the two countries, including the fourth session of the Tunisian Strategic Dialogue. and the fourth session of the Joint Economic Committee (to be held this fall)
