Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, on Saturday, received a phone call from Minister for Middle East & North Africa in the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office James Cleverly.
The UK official commended the “strong” bilateral relations, as well as the mutual respect between the two countries, stressing the need to raise the level of cooperation to higher levels, in the common interest. At the phone call, Cleverly spoke about the importance of the COP26 Climate Summit, which will be hosted by Glasgow, Scotland, from October 31 to November 12, according to a statement from the Foreign Affairs Department. For his part, Jerandi emphasised the need for proceeding with the upcoming bilateral deadlines, praising the support of the United Kingdom to the national effort in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting also focused on the development of the situation in Tunisia. Jerandi placed emphasis on the “exceptional” measures taken by the President of the Republic to adjust the democratic process.
