Tunisia’s foreign minister Othman Jerandi held a phone call with Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, during which they reviewed the existing friendship and collaborative relationships between the two nations and ways to develop them.
In a statement issued by the ministry of foreign affairs, both ministers asserted their keenness to further expand the Tunisian-Turkish relations in different fields, through additional consultations, intensifying exchange of visits, and steady preparation for the upcoming bilateral appointments.”
On his part,Çavuşoğlu expressed his country’s readiness to assist Tunisia to tackle the repercussions of the “CIVID-19” crisis, particularly the provision of essential medical equipment and supplies.
The call was also an occasion to discuss developments of the situation in the Mediterranean region, notably the positive progress taking place in Libya following the election of the new authority. ”In this regard, the two ministers welcomed “ this positive move in the peaceful political path of this brother nation, ”according to the same source.
