Tunisia-Foreign currency assets: 3 billion more than last year, just one downside…

Net foreign currency assets have continued to grow, reaching over 26.7 billion dinars as of Friday, September 29. This amount is equivalent to 118 days of imports. In comparison, during the same period last year, we stood at 23.6 billion dinars, which represented 111 days of imports. These figures were released by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) in their recent monetary and financial indicators report.

The institution responsible for monetary policy also reported the strong performance of the Tunisian dinar against the US dollar. As of September 28, 2023, one dollar is valued at 3.182 dinars, compared to 3.332 dinars during the same period in 2022. A similar trend is observed concerning the Japanese yen…

However, the dinar has not fared as well against the euro. At the end of September 2022, the exchange rate was 3.188 dinars for one euro. Presently, the rate has increased to 3.351 dinars for one euro.
