In light of the 18th Francophonie summit that will be held in November 2021, in Djerba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mr Othman Jarandi, will be carrying a visit on November 24 and 25, to Paris, France to chair the work of the 37th edition of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie.
As the host country of the next Francophonie summit, it is up to Tunisia to chair this meeting which will observe the participation of 88 representatives of member nations, and observers from the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
This meeting will be dedicated in particular to the review of the means possible to consolidate the collaboration and the concertation between the French-speaking countries, with a view to the fight against the Coronavirus and will enable to discuss the initiatives and the actions of cooperation for the period 2020-2025. , as well as the support fund for women, in addition to the discussion around the strengthening of the role and efficiency of this international organization.
During this meeting, Mr Jerandi will also give a presentation on the preparations for the 18th Francophonie summit.
In Paris, Othman Jarandi will meet with the Secretary-General of Francophonie, the Director-General of UNESCO, the French Secretary of State for La Francophonie, as well as his counterparts from OIF member countries.
