Tunisia-Friday Prayer: Strict Sanitary Measures

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a set of health measures to fulfil the administration decision to reopen mosques for Friday prayers from December 4, with 30% capacity.

The ministry affirmed the significance of applying the sanitary protocol associating to places of worship by applying the following measures:

  • Ventilation of prayer areas and arrange them to welcome worshippers
  • The opening of mosques 15 minutes before the  prayer call and to leave the premises as soon as the prayer ends
  • Reducing the time devoted to prayer and preaches
  • Personal mat
  • wearing masks is compulsory

The ministry calls on the elderly and frail or who have symptoms comparable to those of the coronavirus not to go to mosques.
