He discussed with him the subject of the health crisis in Tunisia, as well as the economic crisis due to which the administration turned to the IMF, to obtain support for its economic recovery plan.
The Canadian ambassador reemphasised to Mechichi the support of his government, as well as that of the G7 member countries, in its negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mr Mechichi recalled that Tunisia is currently facing great economic difficulties and that it will soon present to the IMF a consensual economic programme to obtain financial support.
The PM praised Canada’s contribution to the UN programme “Covax”, launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
