Tunisia-Gabes-COVID-19: number of domestic cases of infection rises to 13

The number of domestic cases of infection with COVID-19 has risen to 13 in Gabes governorate, including ten recorded in El Hamma and three in Gabes city.

Among these positive cases, six were recorded on Monday, following tests carried out on 48 people suspected of having contracted the virus after contacting a COVID19 patient in the city of El Hamma, said Yahia Hamdi, acting local health director in Gabes.

Faced with this situation, the local committee for the prevention and control of coronavirus has decided to ban shisha in coffee shops, shut down thermal baths and suspend the holding of weekly markets in the city of El Hamma.

These measures were adopted in prevention against the spread of the virus in the region, the same source told TAP.
