The German government has affirmed that it has excellent relationships with Tunisia. The statement was made after the Tunisians displayed their displeasure at receiving a very delayed invite to participate in the Berlin Conference on Libya.
Talking to the DPA news agency, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert declared: “During the conference preparation process, more invitations may be sent, and invitees may not be able to accept the invitation. We have dealt with the Tunisian government’s hints about not inviting it to the conference, and we have completed the list of invitees in coordination with the United Nations.
Seibert emphasised that Germany has a solid relationship with Tunisia and is supporting it actively in its democratic path.
The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that Tunisia had refused the invitation to attend the Berlin Conference on Libya, explaining that its rejection came due to the last-minute invitation sent by Germany to Tunisia on Friday.
