Tunisia-Germany ready to cooperate with Tunisia to meet current economic and social challenges

Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs  Mounir Ben Rjiba welcomed yesterday Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the headquarters of the Ministry, Katja Keul, German Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, visiting Tunisia from August 8 to 11, 2023.

During this meeting, the following points were raised:

  • Migration and the challenges it poses in the Mediterranean and beyond.
  • Tunisian-German economic and financial cooperation and the prospects for their development.
  • Tunisian-German cooperation within the framework of the European Union.

The Secretary of State likewise recalled the development of the political process in Tunisia and its foundations planned to establish a real and lasting democracy at the service of citizens, in accordance with the demands of Tunisians and on the basis of their lived experiences. As such, he indicated that the major challenge is now economic.

For her part, the German official remembered the historical relations between Tunisia and Germany, reaffirming her country’s readiness to collaborate with our country to meet the current economic and social challenges.

According to the press release published on the official page of the Foreign Minister, she raised the issue of migration, underlining the significance of concerted management in order to better deal with massive flows.
