Tunisia-Ghannouchi does not intend to quit the presidency of Ennahdha

Rached Ghannouchi, leader of the Ennahdha movement, rejected, during an interview with Al Arabi television, the idea of resigning even temporarily. By evoking the overruns of the movement, during the legislative elections included in the report of the Court of Auditors, Ghannouchi took the chance to blast the intervention of the Head of State and the media in a case which is still being dealt with by justice.

He clarified, saying: “our page is blank and we are the most organized. also, we have handed over to the Court of Auditors all the monetary details, in relationship with the electoral campaign”. He likewise spoke about the question of his resignation from the presidency of the Parliament, with the purpose of resolving the political crisis, ensuring that no one spoke with him about this proposal. “But in absolute terms, the country’s interest is above all considerations,” he noted.
