Writer Gilbert Naccache has passed away aged 81. Born January 15, 1939, in Tunis, Naccache was a Tunisian writer and leftist activist.
Opposing Bourguiba and his regime, he was condemned in March 1968 because of his political activities within the Tunisian Perspectives movement, before being released in 19793.
He published Cristal in 1982 with Salammbô editions. He had written this novel in prison on the packaging of Cristal brand cigarettes.
He also published The Sky is Over the Roof in 2005 as well as What did you do with your youth? in 2009.
