Tunisia-Goulette Port : Seizure of more than 6 kg of cocaine [Photos]

An inquiry into the intention of certain people to smuggle a quantity of drugs on board a passenger transport ship led to action by units of the maritime customs brigade. The ship, coming from Marseille, was subjected to inspection during its docking at Goulette Port  on Wednesday, according to a press release published on the official Customs page.

During the waste unloading operation, a suspicious entity inside a black plastic bag was found . The bag was discovered to contain almost 6.2 kg of cocaine. Subsequently, coordination with agents at the Goulette Nord border post took place, intensifying inspection operations and closing crossing points.

The seized merchandise and truck, along with the suspects, were apprehended and are awaiting their appearance in court.
