Tunisia-Habib Ammar: Tourism needs 4 years to revive

Speaking at yesterday plenary session to examine the tourism ministry budget, Tourism minister Habib Ammar affirmed that the World Health Organization predicted that the tourism sector requires two to four years to recover its health after the coronavirus crisis.

Habib Ammar stressed that the global situation has hit tourism in Tunisia which registered in 2020, a reduction of 78% of the number of tourists, 80.5% of the number of overnight stays and 61.7% of the receipts.

Global tourism has come to a standstill, he said, and overall revenues have dropped by $ 37 billion.
