Tunisia-Habib Jemli: Ghannouchi asked me to step down on day of the vote of confidence session

Former prime minister designate Habib Jemli disclosed that House speaker Rached Ghannouchi has asked him to step down on the day of the vote of confidence session.

In an interview with Attessia TV, Mr Jemli affirmed that Ghannouchi was confident that his cabinet will not acquire the needed vote to pass. However, he insisted on presenting his government and to refer to the vote of the deputies who decided to drop it by the majority.

He indicated that a discussion took place between him and Ghannouchi the day he presented his government. At the time, Jemli asked Ghannouchi about the country’s interest in bringing down his administration in a difficult situation, and what is the alternative ?, Ghannouchi’s conclusion was to go to the president’s government.
