Tunisia – Hachani meets with Chinese ambassador in Tunis

Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, welcomed today, Friday January 12, 2024, at the Government Palace in Kasbah, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tunisia, Mr. Wan Li.

Hachani appreciated the old and distinguished ties between the two countries, welcoming the diplomatic relations which date back to January 10, 1964, commenting in the same context the concern of our country to further develop them in a way that serves the interests of the two nations and two friendly peoples, as confirmed by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, and his Chinese counterpart during their meeting at the Sino-Arab Forum on December 9, 2022.

He hailed the level of Tunisian-Chinese cooperation, which has resulted in the realization of several Chinese projects in Tunisia, such as the International Diplomatic Academy, the Sfax University Hospital and the Ben Arous Cultural and Youth Complex. , voicing our country’s aspiration to further strengthen the partnership, via new projects such as the renovation and restoration of sports facilities such as the El Menzah sports city, the Chedly Zouiten Stadium, the Belvédère swimming pool and the Olympic Stadium of Sousse, in addition to examining the possibility of cooperation in major projects such as the expansion project of the Tunis-Carthage international airport, the high-speed train project and the installation project of electric buses, in addition to other projects in the health sector.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador, Mr Wan Li, welcomed the level of collaboration existing between Tunisia and China, emphasising his country’s readiness to continue common work, to raise the level of cooperation between the two countries and support its prospects.
