The High Independent Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) inflicted a fine of 50,000 dinars on the illegal private radio Quran Karim for broadcasting without a license. HAICA evoked that in the event of carrying out broadcasting activities without a license, fines ranging from (20,000) dinars to (50,000) dinars may be imposed.
Haica may order the confiscation of equipment utilised in the performance of these activities, in accordance with Article 116. It said it called on the radio station to cease broadcasting on August 11 for failure to obtain a license.
