Tunisia-HAICA calls on media structures to comply with public health measures

The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) called on all TV channels and radio stations to strictly comply with the exceptional measures taken until further notice.

These instructions come after the worsening of the global health situation and the risk of proliferation of the COVID-19 virus in Tunisia.

The HAICA stressed in a statement the needs to provide all the necessary security equipment to live studios as well as to inside and outside the recording studios.

HAICA called for not inviting the public in TV programmes and to be limited to three guests, at most, while respecting the necessary distance between them.

It is necessary to check all the information relating to the proliferation of the Coronavirus and to update it, by privileging information coming from official sources”, HAICA stressed.

It also urged the media to adhere to awareness activities on prevention against the virus carried out by the various public institutions as well as members of civil society.
