Tunisia-Hamma Hammami: demonstrators were the target of police assaults [Video+Photos]

The supporters of the various parties (Modernist Democratic Pole (PDM), Democratic Current, Ettakatol, Al Jomhouri and the Workers’ Party) who assembled this morning in front of the ISIE headquarters, chanted slogans slamming the policy adopted by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied.

They opposed the unilateral decisions taken by the latter, considering that the July 25 referendum will only be a way of forging the will of the people and setting in place a Constitution that does not respect the rights and freedoms.

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, the leader of the workers’ party, Hamma Hammami revealed that this protest is part of the framework of beating the referendum scheduled for July 25. He believed that the ISIE was charged by the Head of State with the purpose of falsifying the referendum and the results of the next elections.

Hammami explained that Kais Saied’s project aims to destroy state institutions as well as limit rights and freedoms. He again denounced the police violence saying that the demonstrators were the target of tear gas.
