Tunisia-Hamma Hammami: Tunisian people will overthrow Said, as they overthrew Ben Ali

The secretary general of the workers’ party, Hamma Hammami, confirmed that the Tunisian revolution is connected to January 14, because it is the day when the Tunisian people overthrew a whole dictatorship.

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, Hammami estimated that the date of January 14 was the beginning of a new path in Tunisia, but the President of the Republic, Kais Saied cancelled this date and considered it non-existent.

“As for popular and progressive democratic forces, it is natural that they descend to Habib Bourguiba, particularly since this street stays symbolic … On January 14, the Tunisian people went down to the Ministry of the Interior To say to Kais Saïd: “get out”… The people will overthrow Said, as they overthrow Ben Ali ”he assured.

In addition, Hammami emphasised that the anniversary of the revolution will be commemorated and that a new breath will be given on the way to the Revolution.

He likewise indicated that January 14 was also a chance to protest the situation in which the Tunisian people were after 12 years of revolution when they suffered from more difficult conditions.
