Tunisia – Harouni’s case: Democratic Current demands apology from Ennahdha and clarification from Mechichi

The democratic Current has voiced  its concern at the comments made by Ennahdha’s leaders asking their bases to safeguard the nation’s institutions instead of law enforcement. The party affirmed that these remarks are contradictory  to the provisions of the constitution which gives the state the sole protocol to preserve order.
In a press release, the party said that that the simultaneous declarations of multiple leaders of Ennahdha, on this subject, attest to a true desire of Ennahdha to throw in the street its armed militias, which intend to push citizens to kill each other.

The current called on Ennahdha to apologize, the prosecution to respond to these remarks and called on the prime minister to clarify his position on these statements.
