Tunisia – Hatem Ben Salem: “The culture of cheating is a disgrace for the educational system

In an exclusive interview with “Tunisie Numérique“, the Minister of Education Hatem Ben Salem commented on cheating and fraud cases in the qualifying Baccalaureate exams .The minster labelled the culture of fraud as “a disgrace for the education system“.
The minister said that the ministry had aggressively implemented measures to punish anyone who is caught red-handed .Furthermore,  Ben Salem praised the critical role of teachers and monitors in standing up to this negative phenomenon.
Concerning shifting the 9th-grade examination into a national counterpart, the minister said that the aim of this procedure is to improve the academic level of Tunisian students. Discussion concerning this matter will begin next July.
