Tunisia – Hattab Ben Othmane referred to criminal chamber responsible for terrorism cases

The indictment chamber responsible for examining terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal has decided to direct the former president of the Union of Judicial Agents and Employees, Hattab Ben Othman, to the attention of the criminal chamber responsible for examining terrorism cases at the court of first instance of Tunis, while maintaining him under the effect of the arrest warrant issued against him.

The general prosecutor’s office of the Court of First Instance of Tunis had formerly referred Hattab Ben Othman to the attention of the indictment chamber of the court of First Instance of Tunis, for judgment for mediation in the sale of real estate, in a manner which infringes the law, so the competent chamber decided that he be imprisoned for three months and fined.

Ben Othman appealed the initial decision and the court of appeal decided to overturn it.
