Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, MP from the Democratic bloc Haykel Mekki affirmed that prime ministerHichem Mechichi is the obedient servant of the parliamentary coalition that backs him.
During the plenary session devoted to the vote on the cabinet reshuffle, Mekki stated that the reshuffle does not comply with the provisions of the Constitution, adding that the restructuring proposed by Mechichi was not addressed at a ministerial council.
Subsequently, the MP emphasised that the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, has the right to protest the assignment of “corrupt” ministers.
Far from him the will to resolve the problems facing Tunisians, Hichem Mechichi is simply interested in serving the interests of the parliamentary coalition that supports him as well as those of certain ministers, said the MP.
Mekki also reflected on the reinforced security presence in front of the parliament headquarters, emphasising that the assembly imperils the national security of the country and that the deputies are intimidated by the presence of the citizens because they are involved in the worsening of the current situation..
