The investigating judge of the Judicial pole for the fight against Terrorism in Tunisia informed the former public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Tunis, Béchir Akremi, and Ennahdha movement member Habib Ellouze, of the closure of the investigation regarding them.
They are now referred to the indictment chamber specializing in terrorism matters at the Tunis Court of Appeal. This case, implicating accusations of a terrorist nature, relates to the judicial functions previously exercised by Akremi, notably in the context of the investigation into the assassination of Chokri Belaïd.
The judge had formerly issued prison warrants for Akremi and Ellouze during the investigation.
