Tunisia – He kidnaps 13-year-old girl and takes her to Jendouba

The Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Ben Arous authorized agents from the Central Division for the Fight against Violence Against Children of the National Guard of Ben Arous to apprehend a man in his thirties suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl from New Medina in Rades. The girl had been confined since last Thursday in the Jendouba region, according to a well-informed source who confirmed this to the press.

Preliminary information reveals that a family living in New Medina in Rades reported the disappearance of their 13-year-old daughter on Thursday. Upon obtaining this information, the prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Ben Arous authorized the Central Division for Combating Violence Against Children in the National Guard of Ben Arous to conduct required investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Through intensified investigation, necessary interviews, and execution of different court-authorized measures, suspicions focused on a 35-year-old man with a criminal record who maintained friendly relations with the girl’s family.

The suspect remained under inquiry until his arrest today, Sunday, in Beja. The child was located and safely returned to her family. Initial investigations disclosed that the suspect had deceived and kidnapped her, taking advantage of her young age and familiarity with her family, and transported her to his hometown in Jendouba.
