Tunisia – Head of organization Tunisie Terre d’Asile held in preventive detention

The prosecution at the court of first instance of Tunis authorized, on Wednesday, agents of the second central division responsible for investigating complex financial crimes at the National Guard, in El Aouina, to imprison for five days which could be prolonged, the head of the “Tunisie Terre d’Asile” association.

It was decided to keep the said individual in pre-trial detention due to suspicions related to money laundering by exploiting the facilities given to her by the characteristics of her social, associative and professional activity.

It should be remarked that the prosecution at the court of first instance of Tunis authorized officers of the central division of the national guard in Aouina and of the judicial police in Gorjani to carry out a series of inquiries against a certain number of associations and organizations active in the field of refugees and sub-Saharan African affairs.
