Tunisian medical teams in public hospital institutions continue their success, especially in the field of cardiovascular diseases.
The cardiovascular diseases and surgery centre at Rabta University Hospital performed a new medical feat last weekend, the first of its kind in the world.
This success consisted of the implantation of a physiological system to stimulate the heart by stimulating the left branch of a pregnant woman suffering from a “complete atrioventricular block”. A “corrected transposition of the great vessels”, is obtained by decreasing exposure to X-rays and without risk to the fetus.
