Speaking on the airwaves of private radio, director of the Institut Pasteur, Hechmi Louzir, examined the health situation in Tunisia and principally the vaccination campaign.
Louzir announced that 40% of Tunisians want to be vaccinated, 30% reject it, while the rest are still uncertain and do not yet have a position explaining that some fear the vaccine based on scientific evidence, yet clinical trials have revealed the absence of adverse effects.
He also underscored the significance of setting up campaigns to demonstrate and raise awareness about the vaccine.
Regarding the increase in the number of infections recently reported in several governorates, Louzir said that free screening campaigns are at the origin of this rise, indicating that several citizens were infected but did not exhibit symptoms.
